We were awarded £5,000 from ERYC’s PAG awards to pilot an emotional Well Being Support Project.
We recruited a former worker from the C&YP’s Social Prescribing Service to offer support to young people, during the course of the year a wide range of topics were covered including: Relationships, Exam Stress, Bereavement, Family issues, Bullying, Drugs, Mental health, Traumatic events, General low mood & School issues.
It was originally planned that the service would to be on a referral based approach , however during the course of the pilot what worked well was for a “blended” approach in which the support worker engaged in the various youth projects across Goole & Old Goole and delivered her work within these settings, these included: Moorlands Youth & Community Centre, Trinity and Revive Youth Projects, GYA’s Detached, Summer Activities, Boxing and Drop In session at Trinity.
Overall, 165 sessions were delivered in which different 41 young people used the service, this meant that on average young people attend 4 sessions each
