This continues to be a core activity of GYA, the detached project provides the Charity with direct contact with many young people who do not attend youth provision, clubs or groups operating in the Goole area.

This project goes from strength to strength with the team of detached workers creating some very positive relationships with the many young people they meet. Signposting young people to other key services / providers, listening to their needs and providing a safe space are key elements of this project.

The project benefited from funding awards from the Humber Police Crime Commissioner’s Office via its Youth Diversion Fund, Goole Fields Wind Farm Fund and ERYC’s Children & Young People's Service. This has enabled the project to consistently deliver 3 sessions a week and when availability allows we have provided an additional 4th session on some busier weeks.

Our new Youth Mobile funded from a generous award from the Clothworkers Foundation enables the team to visit a number of different locations during a session and thus provides us with greater flexibility whilst providing a safe warm space for young people to engage with us.

Currently we operate on a Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday evenings but this is can change, for more information about the Detached project please contact: Helen.gooleyouthaction@gmail.com
