Detached youth work is youth work that isn't delivered in a set provision. Instead, our detached team goes around the local areas where young people frequent to talk to them and provide them with informal education around social issues such as smoking, drugs, drinking etc. It's important that youth work isn't always set in a provision as the young people that don't attend need to feel like they are still being thought of and the young people that do (or have) attended provisions feel comfortable in their own space too
